Skincare expert to Kim Kardashian and Jessica Alba reveals the mistakes we make that age our faces

We have all secretly (and shamefully) made some obvious skin care errors, like sleeping while still wearing make-up or not moisturising dry skin.
However, Nurse Jamie Sherrill from LA revealed we are doing even MORE wrong than we thought before.

The expert, who has her own line of beauty tools, deals with famous clients such as Ruby Rose, the Kardashians, Jessica Alba and Kristen Dunst.
Speaking to The Daily Mail, she revealed a few neat tricks to stop wrinkles appearing faster than expected.
She claims that sleeping on your side, combined with snoozing on a ‘traditional pillow’ is the wrong move.
She recommends to opt for a silk pillow instead, which supposedly helps avoid ageing creases.

She said: “Choose a shape that will help you train to back sleep – or at least keeps the opening for your face so that the most delicate areas around the eyes, cheeks and neck do not form permanent wrinkles.”
We have been told numerous times that exfoliating our skin is good for us, and helps to remove dry/dead skin cells.
However, Nurse Jamie warns it should be done less often rather than more.
“We need to treat our skin like a silk fabric not a piece of leather. When you over exfoliate, physically and chemically, and with over-frequency – which is very common – it destroys the protective barrier that your skin has.”

According to Nurse Jamie, we are also neglecting our eyes and being too sloppy when removing our make up.
She said: “Be consistent with taking off makeup nightly; use a hypoallergenic and antibacterial surface to cleanse your skin.

“Apply an eye cream every morning and night after your face moisturiser.
“The best way to apply is after your moisturiser using your ring finger.”

Despite saying that using your ring finger isn’t terrible when applying day and night cream, Nurse Jamie claims that your fingers shouldn’t be used all the time if you want the best results.
She said that in order to achieve ‘maximum performance’ you should use a beauty tool instead of your hands to help increase product absorption.
The Hollywood ‘skin saviour’ also suggests we are going overboard with Botox injections and heavy make up to get wrinkle-less, flawless skin.

“The overdone look can be very ageing – you know that you have done too much filler if proportions are off and it distorts features of your face.”
She also commented on the tattoo brow trend, which she said she is ‘croaking’ at.
“Corrective work is so expensive – including corrective tattoo and laser tattoo removal.
“Just use a brow pencil if you want to sport a super exaggerated brow for a night out.”
